SYNOPSIS:

After a little girl gets kidnapped, her father, a haggard cab driver, sneaks into a warehouse to try and get her back. But inside, a mysterious guild has been forcing “innocent” children to open an ancient trunk despite the risks. Will the cabbie find his daughter before it’s too late?

This is the story in The X Factor, a short film that garnished 2nd place amongst hundreds of film entries nationally for Chapter 5 in Canon’s “The Story Beyond the Still” contest.  The contest stitched together “chapters” each ending with a still image that created the jumping off point for the next chapter, giving one filmmaker the chance to pick up where a previous filmmaker left off.

The contest was the largest collaborative user generated film effort in history and was awarded two extremely prestigious awards from Canes – a Gold Lion and a Silver Lion.
